About

Four decades in timber. Roots in Oakland.

John Redfield has spent his career in the wood products industry — from forest operations to engineered structural systems. In 2021 he consulted on the Portland International Airport's new roof: a structure of massive laminated arched wood beams, one of the largest of its kind.

In 2022 John and Jenny Redfield added a residential general contractor license and formalized 7J Consulting & Construction. The name honors the seven members of their family: John, Jenny, Jake, Jade, Joel, John Patrick, and their dog Jack.

Based in Oakland, Oregon. Licensed, bonded, and insured. Available Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm.

    Permit & plan coordination

    Where municipal permits are required, we coordinate the application and meet inspection.

    Mobilize & execute

    Right equipment for the job. We arrive when we say and keep you informed as work progresses.

  4. 04

    Final walkthrough

    Site left clean, graded to spec, and ready for its next use. You sign off; we're done.

    We visit the site, assess scope and soil conditions, and provide a written proposal before any work begins.

    Permit coordination

    Where permits are required, we coordinate the application and meet inspection. We pull permits; we do not skip them.

    Mobilise & execute

    We arrive with the right equipment when scheduled. The site is kept orderly; you are kept informed.

  4. IV.

    Final inspection

    The site is left graded to specification. You walk it with us; when it's right, the job is closed.
